Germany KWI International Fellowships 2027 Offer €3,000 Monthly Allowance
Applications are open for the KWI International Fellowships 2027 in Germany, a six-month research programme for early-career postdoctoral scholars in the humanities, cultural studies and social sciences. The fellowship will be hosted by the Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities (KWI) in Essen from 1 April to 30 September 2027.
Researchers from around the world may apply if they meet the programme’s career-stage conditions. The deadline is 17 August 2026 at 24:00 midnight CET.
What the KWI German Fellowship Has To Offer?

- €3,000 per month before tax
- A six-month fellowship contract, not a full-employment contract
- Possible partial reimbursement of travel for arrival and departure
- Office space, research infrastructure and technical support
- Library, event, research-management, administrative and communications support
- Access to KWI academic events
The allowance is intended to cover rent, insurance and living expenses. Fellows must pay additional travel costs, including conference travel, from this allowance.
