This call is open to students who will be enrolled in a Japanese university as privately financed (self-funded) students and meet the eligibility and document requirements.

Eligibility Criteria
To apply, students must:
- Be privately financed (self-funded) international students
- Be currently enrolled or accepted into a university in Japan for October 2025 or April 2026 intake
- Secure a control number from the university’s International Student Affairs or Student Support Division
- Prepare required documents including resumes, academic transcripts, research plan (for graduates), and a recommendation letter.
Doctoral students are also required to submit an evaluation letter from their supervisor.
