In a major step toward building a generation of globally competitive young Muslims with strong Islamic values, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta (UMS) has officially opened the Online Scholarship Competition (OSC) for the 2026–2027 academic year. This fully funded opportunity offers free undergraduate and postgraduate education for outstanding students across Indonesia who are ready to transform their futures.
A Gateway to Free Higher Education
The OSC Scholarship is a flagship collaboration between UMS and the Media Group, first launched in 2015 to make quality higher education accessible to talented youth. For the second consecutive year, UMS is partnering in this national scholarship initiative that helps young people achieve their dreams without financial burden.
What the OSC Scholarship Covers?
Successful applicants will receive a full tuition waiver—covering four years for undergraduate studies and two years for master’s programs. Scholarship holders also join an active academic community at UMS, gaining not only free education but also the chance to participate in Muhammadiyah’s dynamic student organizations and national competitions designed to strengthen leadership, innovation, and social impact.

The OSC Scholarship at UMS is open to applicants in 10 faculties, offering a broad spectrum of disciplines for both undergraduate and graduate students:

Eligibility and Application Process
According to Fefy Sheilla Putri, SIKom., from the UMS New Student Admissions Promotion Team, applicants must:
- Be graduates of 2026,
- Register via the official OSC portal,
- Pay a registration fee of Rp 35,000
The selection process involves three stages:
- Administrative review,
- OSC online test, and
- Final interview at UMS.
